I am writing to you because we have crossed paths in the world of music somehow; either as fellow players or audience members, friends, family, promoters, publicists, presenters, aficionados, gadabouts, hipsters, hepsters, artists, oh hear me now while I sing.
I sing of the recording industry which has changed drastically in the last 15 years. Unless you have been living under a rock you are already aware that ‘streaming services’ do not really serve the artists. And with the advent of AI generated music and playlists this will only get worse!
So I have decided to appeal to all of you for help in producing my first recording as a bandleader. Some of you may know that I moved to Berlin in March of 2020. As the new kid in town I made sessions with many of the musicians around. I kept coming back around to Jordan Dinsdale, Béla Meinberg, and Ori Jacobsen. Together we developed a sound, and our own way of playing together which is right where I like to be as a player and listener. I was very fortunate to have the additional artistry of pianist Olivia Trummer, whom I met through my friend Kurt Rosenwinkel, on two tracks.
We have recorded my debut album and will release it in March 2025. But, for a limited time, I am asking any who may be willing to support the project by a pre-ordering process. Of course it also helps if you share this among friends who might also be interested;-)
By doing so you’ll help me to recoup the costs of producing the record, and help us to have our music heard in your homes, cars, workplaces…
